Story
Absolutely amazing story set during World War II between author Sandy Munro’s mother and father who was a Naval Aviator serving on the U.S.S Enterprise in the war in the Pacific. It’s got love, it’s got first-person recounts of such a trying time in world history and it’s got a human element that not many books carry.
Readability
Probably due to the nature and scope of what Sandy Munro’s covers in the book, I found myself having to backtrack from time to time to recall names, places and details of the story. I can’t imagine the complexity of having to sift through that many letters, piecing together not only a love story but attempting to parallel it to an order of battle follow the Enterprise through the Pacific. Absolutely amazing.
Value
Unparalleled in value because I know I will be reading this book again!
MMR Overall Rating
Hands down one of the best books I’ve read all year and one of my favorites set during World War II. Young or old, man or woman - this book is sure not to disappoint!
